There Is A Way That Seems Right To Man

The house of the wicked will be overthrown, But the tent of the upright will flourish.

There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.

Proverbs 14:11-12 (NKJV)

God’s ways will always be higher than the ways of mankind. How we understand God will determine how we view ourselves as humans. So, how do we understand God? The Bible tells us that no one knows the mind of God (Rom 11:33-34), yet it also tells us that God has revealed himself to us. At first glance, this seems like a contradiction, but it is not. This is what the word of God is all about, learning to know the heart of the Creator as he reveals his character and his nature to those who seek him. Scripture was never meant to be read in bits and pieces to suit our personal preferences, but instead to be read in search for the character and nature of God in the context of human history.

It is an unfortunate fact that western societies have managed to distort the message of God’s Christ, found in the Word, to the point that the character and nature of God resembles human fickleness more than that of a Sovereign Being. We have cultures filled with “personal” gods designed to change with the times and cultural norms. There is no standard for a stable knowable Creator. Our thoughts have become His thoughts which is completely reversed from reality. We create a god after our own likeness, better known as designer gods.

Christians are to seek God’s character in an effort to become more Christlike, not the other way around. When we rightly comprehend the God of the universe, we are confronted with how we fall short as humans in the face of a holy Creator. When we disregard the true character of God, we misunderstand who we are as humans. This is why, our culture preaches to us that humanity is basically “good,” and that we only make mistakes. However, the word of God is clear, we are depraved and desperately in need of a savior. We are not good and the disciples clearly recognized our human condition, as their message was one that continually points to our need of a Savior.

In the book of Genesis we do not get very far before we learn of our tendency to evil, as God clearly laments that he was sorry that he ever created humanity because our every thought is continually thinking up evil things (Gen. 6:5-6). For those who are painfully aware of our depravity, and how we fall so far short of the glory of God, it should not be surprising at how evil our day is. We are currently contending with evil on a scale never seen before in human history and sadly many professing Christians fail to see it. They have fallen prey to the culture and of humanity’s false conception of what is true and what is real and are accepting the lies and deceptions of the enemy. They cannot seem to comprehend the face of evil as it stares at them straight on. Those who are greatly deceived seem mesmerized by those in positions of authority who keep them in a continual state of fear. Those are the same officials who create divisions between individuals, societies, and families.

Do not be deceived by the enemy dear Christian. We are at war! Know who the real enemy is. Pray that God begin to reveal truth to you before you fall into the trap of the evil one and cannot get out. The Bible says that Satan will come disguised as an angel of light and hope (2 Cor. 11:14), be on guard of those who have an agenda. Do not overlook the fact that Satan uses humans as partners to deceive humanity. Know who you are pledging your allegiance to. Remaining ignorant is not the answer, it will only lead you to death both spiritually and physically.

The days are evil – Wake Up and PRAY!
