Beware of False Prophets!

Jesus not only warns us of false teachers and their teachings in the gospel of Matthew, but we are also warned about false teachings through the anti-Christ in the book of Revelation. God knew clearly that humans would have the tendency to twist His word from the very start, as it is noted in the book of Deuteronomy (Deut 4:2) that no one is to add to or take away from His word. There are numerous examples of how God’s word has been distorted to suit the culture of the day and it is no different today in the Christian community. It is an unfortunate fact of the world in which we live, that we cannot always trust the message that we hear from the pulpit. Numerous churches have unashamedly deviated from the Word of God so much so, that the image of what a Christian is, has become a mere ideology or at best one’s personal philosophy. There is a reason why Jesus continually taught his disciples that the Word of God would outlast the very universe (Matt 5:17-19). Take heart in the promises of the Lord. Humanity may believe that they can tamper with the Bible, but that will not change what God has ordained. Be wise and seek God. Compare everything you hear with an unedited version of the Bible.
